PORTUGAL TRAVEL GUIDE

Hello Loves! In today's post i'm sharing my travel details from my recent bachelorette trip to Portugal. We travelled from Boston to lisbon with a layover in Madrid which was totally worth it. It was six of us that traveled, we stayed at an Airbnb in the Amalfa region of Lisbon which was close to lot of attractions, and restaurants. If you've never been to Lisbon, an interesting fact is that the city is built upon seven hills so you kiss your heels goodbye! The streets are all cobblestones so definitely pack your walking shoes.

SAO JORGE CASTLE, LISBON

Lisbon is definitely a place with a lot of history. We decided to take the tour of Sao Jorge castle in Lisbon about 20 min walk from our Airbnb. The castle is beautifully situated overlooking the river. The castle has an entrance fee of about 8Euros.

Tuk Tuk Tour: i also recommend taking a run tsk tour about 15 euros a person, which is basically riding in an open van/taxi along the high points of the city. Since the tuk tuks are not a means of transport in US, we had to ride them while in Lisbon.

Lisbon wine tour: The other tour which all of us really enjoyed was the lisbon wine tour which was about three hours and included three different bars/restaurants each offering various kinds of wine and crackers. We booked our tour through viator it was about 3 hours and I highly recommend it. There is a lot of walking between bars so comfy shoes are a must. Funny story, I got stuck in one of the bathrooms in a bar, totally unpleasant but a hilarious tale to tell.

PENA PALACE, SINTRA

When in Portugal, a trip to Sintra is definitely worth it. Sintra is located 30 minutes north of Lisbon and the best way to see it is through booking a day tour. The city's sightseeing buses also make a stop here. Sintra is known for the romantic Pena palace. This beautiful palace has rich history and intricate architecture that is worth admiring. The palace once belonged to the Portuguese royal family. We enjoyed seeing this magnificent architecture. The tour also included visiting the most southern part of continental Europe and a beach down called cascais, which is known for its delicious gelato ice-cream.

BENAGIL CAVES, ALGARVE

BENAGIL CAVES ALGARVE

Souther coast of Portugal is known for its turquoise beaches, and beautiful caves. One of the days we decided to rent a car and drive to Lagos about three hour drive to the coast. We rented a private yacht to customize our itinerary to see the caves and swim in the beautiful waters. IT was the perfect way to celebrate the bride, and bridal party, I recommend staying at Lagos for couple days as there's so much see and explore but one day was just right for us.

Hope you enjoyed this post! If I was to visit Ptogual again I'd definitely go to the southern coast of Faro/Algarve known for tis relaxed lifestyle.

Xx
