NETHERLANDS TRAVEL GUIDE

Hi Loves, I'm back from my four country- Euro trip. I think this was by far the best vacation I have taken. Each country had so much history, culture, delicious food and so much to see. We started our trip with Keuhenhof and its beautiful tulips. Not only can you visit the garden, but in the town of Lisse there are many scenic drive to see miles of tulip farms.

KEUKENHOF

This place is a massive garden with endless number of flowers including various tulips. It's a photographer's dream. We spent about three hours here and I think that is plenty of time to admire the beauty of this place. Keukenof is located in town of Lisse about 30 minute drive from Amsterdam, we decided to rent a car and go early because this place does get very crowded with millions of visitors across globe. Driving through the town of Lisse was really beautiful, the entire town has massive tulips farms that stretch miles long and its truly a sight to see.

When to visit: The best time to see the tulips are late April early May.

KINDERJIK

The town of Kinderjik is located in the south of Netherlands about an hour drive from Amsterdam. We decided to visit the this town later that day from Keukenhof. This town is known for its numerous windmills, and also a UNESCO world heritage site. It's free to visit but there are tickets for the canal cruise that go along the windmill.

AMSTERDAM

Next day, we decided to explore the city of Amsterdam. This city is just the perfect size, not too big or small. This is known for its delicious food, bikes and canals.

WHERE TO EAT

So we started the day with delicious dutch pancakes from De Carrousel Pannenkoeken. There's literally a carousel inside and serves the best pancakes. I had the strawberry-Nutella pancake and honestly it is the best pancake I have ever had.

We also tried the famous Amsterdam fries with mayo from Vlaams Friteshuis Vleminckx, which were beyond delicious. For lunch we dined at The Avocado Show a restaurant, which as the name suggests, incorporates avocado with every dish! This place is vegan/vegetarian friendly so it was the perfect place for me.

THINGS TO DO

This city has something for everyone. If you are a art admirer like myself, the RIksmuseum is a must. it is dedicated to depict the history of Amsterdam through art, located right behind I AM AMSTERDAM sign. If you love beer visiting the Heineken Experience is definitely worth it, its the original brewery in the city. Be sure to get there early. Finally, we ended the night with canal tour which was the highlight of the day. We decided to take the sunset cruise, and I'm glad we did. The canals have serval lights through which is a beautiful sight. Finally, you can't leave Amsterdam without visiting the Red light district. Be sure to check that out!

Hope you enjoyed this post! Netherlands is truly a beautiful country to visit. Stay tuned for my posts about the rest of the countries I visited in Europe!

Until next time,

Xx
