QUICK & EASY HALLOWEEN LOOK - MERMAID
You will need:
SKIRT: SEQUIN CORSET: PEARLS; EYESHADOW: MIX OF UD ELECTRIC PALLETE (Similar shadows here)
There are two things I look forward to in October my birthday and HALLOWEEN of course. I usually never invest in a costume - unless I really have to, because I know I will only wear it one day of the year, and probably shove it in my closet and never see it again. So, instead I try to use props, accessories and primarily makeup to achieve the looks of characters, and I love that I can showcase my creativity without spending too much on costumes, and believe me they can get really expensive!
This year I decided to put together a mermaid look. I got the idea of this look as I was shopping through Windsor and discovered an emerald green maxi skirt with a flare and a perfect fitting. So I improvised the look by adding on pearls that I had from my jewelry collection and quick green smokey eye, beachy wavy hair and voila my mermaid look was complete. The look is very inexpensive under $50 and is super flattering, classy and the best part is you can re-use both the corset and the skirt and style them differently in various ways even after halloween. The makeup is done by one of my good friend, Herneet (@glowbyherneet).
EYES: You will need two shades at least, turquoise green and black/brown to crease the smoky cut crease, liquid eyeliner and dramatic lashes
FACE: Foundation, soft blush to achieve a natural glow and bronzer for light contour, and highlight for the cheekbones
LIPS: You will need a soft lip (pinks), if you want to be bold with the look, you can also wear a blueish/green lipstick (here) and make the look more authentic
HAIR: Mermaids equal beach, so what other way to style your hair than loose beachy waves? I used sea salt spray from Bumble and Bumble and styled my hair, you can use a curler to achieve soft curls. If you want to go all out with the look, you can purchase an aqua colored wig.
Hope you all have fun with your looks! &
