view from our dinner table

Hello beauties! I rang in my 23rd birthday with a special surprise dinner for two at none other than Top of the Hub. This restaurant is located in hub of Boston's Backbay at the 52nd floor of the Prudential Tower. This rooftop restaurant provides 360 degree panoramic views of the beautiful city of Boston. A tip: if you book your dinner reservation closer to dusk, you can catch a spectacular glimpse of the sunset, perfect opportunity for a time lapse video ha! (gots to capture the moment, always). I would say anywhere between 6- 630 pm would be prime time to dine. But anyways, getting back to this lavish restaurant, it has great service from the hostess to the servers, everyone is there to make your day special. Be sure to ask for the window seating so you admire the 360 degree views.

Our appetizers consisted of TOTH HOUSE SALAD followed by CHICKEN TORTIGLIONI PASTA for him and CAVATAPPI PRIMAVERA, which was vegetarian option for myself. The primavera pasta was sizzled with tomatoes, broccoli, asparagus and various veggies. I was convinced that these veggies would justify my 500 calorie dessert that followed after- ha!. The dinner portions are right size for one person, in fact I wish we opted out the appetizer because by the end of my meal I was in a food coma, which may or may not be a good thing. Lastly, nothing says birthday like a semi-sweet delicious chocolate cake. We shared the warm chocolate molten cake served with vanilla ice-cream and berries, which I would rate as 5/5.

Overall, I would say Top of the Hub met all my birthday expectations, with great service, views and even better the dessert! I know usually most of us get intimidated by the food choices at a "5 star" restaurant, I know I do because its not necessarily your comfort food, especially being a vegetarian, but hey- you won't know until you try. Its great ambience at the 52nd floor of the Pru Tower and I would definitely visit again. If you are worried about the pricing, you can always skip the appetizer and dine under $100.

Thank you all for reading along, another year older, another year wiser.

PS. The dress was a gift from my very special friends in NJ! Can you tell how well they know me? The dress was spot on! The poncho is from Bloomingdales outlet store, but I linked some similar ones.

until next time,
