VACATION LIKE A ROYAL-review of the Ritz Carlton St. Thomas
Hello all, we just came back from a week long vacation from St. Thomas which was pure paradise. This was our first time in the Caribbean, so you can imagine the levels four excitement when we saw the clear sandy beaches and the cool turquoise waters. We decided to stay on the East end of the St. Thomas island after reading several reviews about the main city being crowded and "touristy."
We stayed at the Ritz Carlton St. Thomas located in the grace bay area, and man oh man that was an experience on its own. The moment we arrived on the property we were greeted with cool towelettes to save us from the scorching heat of the island. Our luggage was promptly taken from us and stored by the bellman until our room was ready. While checking in, we were given complimentary drinks (with some rum if you were already ready to party). As we waited in the balcony of the grand lobby, we couldn't help but take our eyes off the 180 degree aerial view of the mesmerizing infinity pool and the Atlantic ocean.
As we were escorted to our room by the bellman on the golf cart, we were able to catch glimpses of the beautiful resort. Let's talk about the main deal, the room. We booked an ocean view room, which had some spectacular views of the waters, a little insider secret is all the rooms of the resort have the ocean view in some way, few better than others. Nonetheless, you get to enjoy the ocean view through their beach and restaurants if you decide to not spend the extra dollars on the ocean view room. Each room had its own balcony, with seating area, which we used quite often in the mornings to enjoy our coffee or breakfast with a view.
The room itself was very spacious, comfortable beds, walk-in closet with hangers, a fridge, small dining area and TV of course. Now, for the most important factor, the bathroom. This bathroom was nothing less than #goals. It had a large rectangular bath tub, a stand up shower with a private door, a toilet with a private door, and a two person sink with a marvelous mirror. The bathroom came with all things necessary such as toothbrush, toothpaste, shower cap, shaving kit and hair comb, along with the toiletries.
All in all, the service was excellent with the all the restaurants on property, poolside service, in room dining and anything and everything you can ask for. We once requested for some aloe jell for our skin, we were pleasantly surprised to have real aloe leaves sent to our room door. At Ritz Carlton St.Thomas they truly put their best foot forward to ensure a pleasureable and most importantly a luxurious stay for each and every guest. it's a five out of five from our experience and we would highly recommend spending the extra couple hundred dollars because it is truly worth the royal experience.
